Volunteer opportunities with SDKF Uganda

Join the SDKF team in serving the most vulnerable community members in Kampala and Nakaseke districts of Uganda. There are many opportunities for your support and sharing of skills. We invite you to come live and work with us in Uganda or help as a volunteer from your home community. Volunteer opportunities are open to all people, regardless of ability. Volunteer opportunities are available to people 18 years old and above. As primary languages in our area of Uganda are English and Luganda, volunteers mush speak English. To join our volunteer team please email us your resume, a list of your skills/interests, and tell us why you want to come live and volunteer in Uganda.

We are especially looking for people to help support projects in pig, goats and poultry house construction and repairs, home repairs, health/HIV/AIDS, youth and child education, animal rearing, organic sustainable agriculture, vocational skills development, fundraising, project planning and management or other skills that can help us transform our community.

The cost to volunteer with SDKF is $400USD for the first month and $300USD per each additional month. A deposit of $150 is required a month before your arrival in Uganda. This amount will come out of the $300 you will be asked to contribute per month. This deposit is non-refundable. The fee covers support while you prepare for Uganda, airport pickup, transport to Kampala, food and accommodation while volunteering, supervision, and a donation to SDKF.
The fee does not cover airline tickets, visas, vaccinations, drinking water, leisure activities, or medical services. You'll likely need $20-$40 a week to support a basic life which includes drinking water, transport, and a few western treats such as coffee and chocolate. Safaris and white water rafting are a bit more expensive. Check out a Lonely Planet or Bradt guide on Uganda for details about that.

Free internet is provided to all our volunteers.

To find out more about volunteer opportunities contact SDKF by email at sdkfoundation@yahoo.com or pastordennissdkfuganda@gmail.com. To make donations to SDKF, please contact us via email, or by post box mail at: 31202, Kampala, Uganda or by phone at: +256 712 682363/+256 464 660282.
