Volunteer Experience: Basecamp International Centers believes that international volunteering promotes cross-cultural learning that helps create global awareness, understanding between cultures and provides the platform for positive change. Our volunteers have taught in schools, provided disaster relief support for the International Red Cross, conducted essential research to improve the management strategies of threatened environments, built homes for impoverished people, provided vocational training and programs for street kids and have worked in co-operation with hundreds of local organizations to distribute aid and improve the quality of life for people throughout Asia, Africa and Latin America
The Escuela de Guayabal provides education to elementary school students in the neighbourhood of Guayabal near the city of Cartago. The Escuela de Guayabal principally serves children of the neighbourhood of Guayabal in Tejar de El Guarco, just outside of the city of Cartago.

Volunteers must be of age 18 or above with minimum education of high school. This placment does not need any volunteer in the month of Jan,Feb and Dec. Volunteers with the following special skills are preferred for the placement:-
Child & Youth Worker Early Childhood Education Day Care Work Teacher - English Teacher - Math Teacher - Science Teacher - Geography Teacher - Environmental Science Teacher - Physical Education TEFL Certificaiton / Training Football (American) Soccer Rugby Tennis Baseball Basketball Educational Games Guitar Other Musical Instruments Teacher - Social Science Teacher - Commerce, Finance, Business Teacher - History Hiking
Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:-
Tasks for volunteers could include any of the following:
1. Teaching English 2. Leading traditional games 3. Teaching Physical Education 4. Art Classes 5.
